Dark Chocolate Flapjack

Finding a breakfast that suits me, pre gym, that includes oats has been a little tricky. Realllly not a fan of oatmeal or porridge and I prefer to have something I can eat on the go so flapjack is perfect for me and super easy to make.

Ingredients:

  1. 1/2 cup Butter
  2. 2 tbsp Golden Syrup
  3. 1 tbsp Honey (optional, include 3 tbsp golden syrup if you don’t want honey)
  4. 1/3 cup Brown Sugar
  5. 2 3/4 cups Rolled Oats (use a mix of rolled and jumbo for a more stable flapjack)
  6. 1/3 cup Goji Berries (optional)
  7. 120g Dark Chocolate

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 180c
  2. Melt the butter, syrup, honey and brown sugar until smooth
  3. Add the oats and goji berries
  4. Add to a tin- to prevent the berries from burning I would recommend trying to make sure they’re mixed below the surface or put tin foil on top- this will prevent you from getting a crispy top however
  5. Bake for 15, maybe more maybe less depending on your tin/tray
